Letter from Athletic Director - 10/16/20
Hello Grant Families,
Portland Public Schools and the Portland Interscholastic League are excited to announce that we will begin serving students in the Portland area as part of OSAA Season 1. Programming will follow all OSAA, OHA, and PPS guidelines to ensure a safe environment for all students and coaches. This is a voluntary opportunity, and in accordance with the OSAA, teams will not be formed based on a student’s participation during the OSAA Season 1. In an effort to best support students and programming, our first phase of activities will only be held outdoors. Practices will be managed by PPS staff, which includes certified coaches, the athletic trainer, security services, and me (athletic director). Exact days and times for each practice will depend on the program.
Physical activity has been shown to have a strong and positive influence on the social and emotional well-being of students. Students will be allowed to participate in sport-specific pods with no more than 25 students per pod. Each pod will:

OSAA Adopts NEW 2020-2021 School Activities Calendar

"The OSAA’s new calendar provides for three distinct seasons from late December to late June with limited overlap between seasons. Traditional Winter activities will take place in January and February (Season 2), followed by Fall activities in March and April (Season 3), with Spring activities occurring in May and June (Season 4). Each season will feature an equitable 7-week regular season, with adjusted contest limitations, followed by an OSAA Culminating Week. Specific plans for culminating week events will be developed in conjunction with member schools in the coming months in alignment with large group gathering guidelines issued by the state."

Athletic clearance for all sports are OPEN! Please visit the clearance tab to register on Family ID. All students must be cleared before participating in workouts. Please register for EACH sport that you plan to participate in.
