Grant High School Athletics

The Gendrills will hold Pre-Tryout workouts Tuesday August 20th and Thursday August 22nd from 630pm-800pm in the Grant Aux Gym.

All participants must be signed up via Arbiter Sports and cleared by the athletic office. More information can be found in the "Clearance" Tab above.

We will hold a Meet and Greet with new Head Dance Coach Jenaya Stevenson on Tuesday August 13th at 630pm in the South Forum at Grant High School.

Coach Jenaya is excited to get to know the Gendrills community!

We are excited to announce the hiring of Jenaya Stevenson as the Head Dance Coach at Grant High School. Jenaya is originally from Milwaukie, Oregon, where she attended Rex Putnam High School. During her time at Rex Putnam, she was a member of their dance team, performing in multiple dance categories throughout her competition career. After high school she worked as a camp counselor at the Thunderbird Dance Camp and was the leader of the Portland Community College Hip-Hop Club. Jenaya attended Western Oregon University where she graduated with a BA in Art and Design and a Minor in Dance. During her time at Western Oregon, she was the head coach of the Western Oregon Dance Team. Her coaching experience also extends into high school, as she was previously the head coach at Southridge High School.

 

Jenaya comes to Grant with a dance background of multiple styles including Jazz, Hip Hop, Modern Contemporary, and Pom. Stevenson is excited to work within the Grant community and looks forward to building on the history of the Grant Gendrills Dance Program, strengthening partnerships with programs within our school and the future Gendrill dancers at the elementary and middle schools.
